Tips to Boost Milk Supply with Pumping

1. Pump Frequently

⏱️ Aim to pump every 2–3 hours, including at night if possible. The more often you empty your breasts, the more milk your body is signaled to produce.

2. Power Pumping

⚡ Mimics cluster feeding. Try this once a day:

Pump 20 mins, rest 10

Pump 10 mins, rest 10

Pump 10 mins

Do this for 3–7 days consistently.

3. Ensure Complete Drainage

✔️ Pump until your breasts feel empty — usually 15–30 minutes per session. Massaging while pumping can help.

4. Double Pump

🍼 Use a double wearable pump to stimulate both breasts at the same time — this increases prolactin levels and milk output.

5. Stay Hydrated & Eat Well

💧 Drink plenty of water and eat balanced, nutrient-rich meals. Include lactation-boosting foods like oats, flaxseed, fenugreek, and leafy greens.

6. Use a Warm Compress Before Pumping

🌡️ Applying warmth can help with milk letdown and flow.

7. Stay Relaxed & Comfortable

😌 Stress impacts milk supply. Pump in a calm space, look at your baby’s photo/video, or play soothing music.

8. Try Galactagogues (if needed)

🌿 Consider supplements like Legendairy Milk or nursing teas or Lactation bars

9. Maintain Skin-to-Skin Contact When Possible

👶 Holding or cuddling your baby boosts oxytocin, which supports milk letdown.

10. Track Your Progress

📈 Use an app or journal to track pumping times and volume — it helps spot patterns and improvements.
